Clearly, clearly, you STILL haven't read the book, "Your Health Matters"
Doctor's are overpaid? They earn 5x more than the patients they serve? How much more do they pay for the education that got them the job?
Maybe the education system is over paid? If the doctors education didn't cost so much, they wouldn't have to earn so much. It sounds like the teachers are making WAY too much money.
How much more does a university professor make of the students (s)he serves?
Outpatient vs. Inpatient: Which is more expensive going to a hospital or going to a doctors office, outpatient? Could it be that the 41% of outpatient treatments were chosen because of the difference in price?
Providers charge more because they can? Are you serious? Where does the bulk of the money come from that satisfies the doctor and hospital bills? Medicare? Insurance? Medicare and Insurance establish reimbursement rates...the rates at which they will pay the doctor...the doctors have very little say-so in what they will get paid from an insurance company...and they get reimbursed about 20% less from Medicare. Where do you suppose that shortfall comes from?
You post some of the most ridiculous and inaccurate information I have ever seen. It is painful to think you're in a position of influence.
